Hello 💕 my name is Tamara Danyal, @AestheticnailsYYC on IG. Let me tell you about the best decision I have made in my 31 years of living. It all started on a random Tuesday, November 2021. I decided to go onto my Amazon account and purchase a whole nail kit because I wanted to get my nails done at home to save up some money from going to nail salons for years. Posting what I thought was my “perfect” first gel set online and having friends ask me to do their nails was SO exciting. I had zero experience at the time but I thought I was a pro at it and needed no official education 😅, little did I know of course!

Beginning of February 2022, I realized I wanted to become a Certified Nail Technician. When I came across Mia’s website I was shook at how much cheaper her course cost was compared to other nail schools I had looked at. We did a zoom-meet, and that was IT!!!

Did I say that it was the best decision I have ever made yet?! Let me tell you why... being the shy, social anxious person that I am at times, she made us feel like we're at home on day one. The welcoming, the class setting, the course outline, and I could go on and on. I doubted that within 5 days I would learn it all but Mia’s teaching style made it possible. She spent 8 hours each class day with us and answered every question that comes to mind. At the end of these 5 days, I got to do my first official set on my own hand and I was blown away at the difference. Fast forward to four months later, it’s June 2022 and this is when I finally had graduated and finished all my course’s requirements in class and online. After some extensive practicing on mine and friends’ nails and my practice hand, Karen, I knew I was ready to officially start taking clients in. Boy I was nervous but, with each set I did, I got more confidence and believed in myself. Learning all these nail arts and designs is like therapy to me. Looking at what I can create at the end of each set is what brings joy to me.

I never knew that nails would be the career path that I can finally enjoy choosing and doing. IT’S MY PASSION 💕 and not my job. Who would have thought that I would start my own business at this age when I had given up on everything. Going down to my little nail station area is the moment I wait for every day I wake up!!

So, if you’re thinking of taking classes with Mia, then don’t think! JUST DO IT 🥰

My name is Tia Anderson, or @empressbeautynails on Instagram! I currently work out of my home studio in Calgary, Alberta. I chose Empress Beauty as my name, because Empress represents a woman of abundant nature and creator of life, art and business. The Empress is associated with fertility, expression, creativity and nurturing, which is all the things I strive to establish within my business.

It was about over year ago, during the beginning of the pandemic that my soul was craving more, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and allow myself to be my own boss and have my own business.

I came across the Celestial Academy of Nails Instagram page while I was searching around for certification courses, and fell involve with her work and her vibe. I knew I wanted to have something more than just a career, but something that allowed me to connect to others and share my light. Getting into nails has allowed me tap into the creativity and art I never knew I had within me. It allows me to challenge myself and push myself to become better, all while making amazing connections with all my clients.

I can whole heartedly say that I would not have wished I went anywhere else to take my certificate. Mia is a great instructor! She is so passionate at what she does, and it shows! She works so hard behind the scenes to put everything together to make everything look flawless, and it really shows with the quality of her course down to her work. She genuinely wants everyone to succeed and flourish in this industry.

The small intimate class sizes makes it very comfortable and reassuring that you’re able to get as much guidance and one on one time with her as you need. Mia made sure that everyone was on the same page, everything was understood properly and nobody was falling behind. She made sure to watch each of us and help us on things we personally needed to work on. All the knowledge and tools to help you become successful is provided within this course. The course kit provided comes with everything you need to start up your business and take in clients as soon as you get certified.

Even after being certified for only 8 months now I know to this day I can message and rely on Mia anytime for her guidance and help. She provides a lasting and supportive mentorship. Taking this course and investing in myself has paved me a path to such a fulfilling career. I can’t wait to grow on this journey and take more Advanced courses to elevate and grow as a nail tech. Taking the first step is all you need, and you definitely won’t regret it!

Hey guys! My name is Alliyah aka @ladylefave 💜 I am currently doing nails in Calgary, AB and loving every second. Making people feel good is so rewarding!

She is so accepting of everyone and wants to see all of her students grow as artists no matter what style! Mia will teach you any nail art you want to know and if she hasn’t tried it, she will figure it out and then teach you!

Mia is a true mentor. After finishing my 6 week program, I entered my practicum and she has made it very clear that her students are her priority. Mia will answer her messages with any questions, doubts, or anything you need on any day at any time and that has helped me personally have less anxiety while completing my practicum sets! This course was such a great experience and I recommend it to anyone that is debating learning how to do nails.

Hi people!

My name is Shanatelle and I am the face behind @athena.nailart.studio.

I am originally from Quebec,Canada and moved to Calgary almost 2 years ago. I had a baby and thought that I wanted to be a stay-at-home mom, but after 6 months, I knew it wasn’t for me… I needed something more. Something for myself!

I had no idea what I wanted to do. Seriously. I always enjoyed getting my nails done but honestly, but wondered how can I make a career out of it? I don’t have time to go back to school full-time!

Then I heard about Mia. I took her FastTrack certification program which was only for a week!

Mia literally changed my life. She opened my eyes to the opportunities and possibilities in the nail industry. She’s been by my side from the beginning, and is still one of my biggest cheerleaders!

It was a risk to take, being new in Alberta, not speaking really in English, also never having done anyones nails before and definitely never having had my own business! But she holds my hand through all the steps and made it an easy journey to start!

Hello! My name is Megan Ong, or @daintydaggersyyc on IG. I loved getting my nails done up for years, but when the pandemic hit it sparked an interest to learn how to do my own nails to save some coins in the future. Eventually I started to do my friends nails for fun and realized I enjoyed being the technician way more than being the client. I was so excited to have come across Mia’s certification course when I did because through it, I found my passion.

Her students work speaks volumes on the quality of education she provides. I surprised myself when only a few weeks in I produced sculpted extensions that looked better than any sets I’ve gotten in the past. As a class, I felt we were advancing quickly because Mia’s teaching was so thorough, and if we needed some extra help she would adapt to fit our different learning styles.

Starting a new business/ career can be intimidating because you’re unsure how or where to start. I appreciate Mia providing the education on how to run our business and making the whole process less daunting. Going to class felt less like school and more like friends getting together. The atmosphere was so welcoming, and Mia is the sweetest, most down-to-earth mentor I’ve ever had. REBECCA BRELAND

My name is Rebecca Breland, @thenailwitchyyc on Instagram. I am all about positivity and support. I love being a hype girl for everyone! My goal is to make people feel renewed and positive after they come and see me for their nails. I have been in the beauty industry for over nine years as a hairstylist/barber. However, I was always curious about nails and all the creative things that can be done with them. Just before COVID-19 hit, I took a nail course through a friend. Through this course I discovered my passion for doing nails and I craved more education to improve my practice.

I came across Mia’s nail Instagram and reached out to her. It was the best thing that I have done! The moment I contacted her, I felt like we had an immediate connection! Mia and her studio are both stunning and contain spiritual and positive vibes.
